Mayan Calendar 2012
What is the Mayan Calendar 2012 connection?
In conversations I’ve had with Maya decendents living in Guatemala we often spoke of the Mayan Calendar and the year 2012.
First off I will tell you much of what was discussed revolves around a time period, not a specific date. The time period is the 6 month period between the Spring and Fall equinoxes. After that period comes the Winter Solstice on December 21 2012.
The Maya had numerous calendars with which they tracked the movements of the planets (Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter) and the rotation of the Earth around the Sun. Two of these Mayan calendars are those which draw our attention to 12/21/2012.
The Maya Tzolkin Calendar and the Maya Long Count Calendar both contain references many today believe point to the year 2012. The sacred Tzolkin calendar represents a 260 day period that uses 20 days rotating in conjunction with 13 tones which create the foundation of the calendar. The day 4 Ahua (aka: Ajaw - the day name can vary depending on which Mayan dialect is used) is a special day as it is always on this day during which the Baktun periods begin (the 5,124 year periods). Baktun periods however are represented in the Long Count Calendar. Baktuns are the fifth placemark in the Long Count and the upcoming date in 2012 marks the movement from 12 to 13 (13.0.0.0.0).
Tortuguero is a Maya ruin site in southern Mexico that contains a stone carving (Monument 6) with the Dec. 21, 2012 date represented in the Tzolkin calendar. The carving references 4 Ahua (the beginning date within the Tzolkin and Long Count calendars) and the remaining visible glyphs are interpreted as referecing an event occuring on the beginning date upon which the diety will descend.
“The Thirteenth ‘Bak’tun” will be finished
(on) Four Ajaw, the Third of Uniiw (K’ank’in).

(It will be) the descent(??) of the Nine Support? God(s) to the ?.”
This decypherment of the glyphs and the Tortuguero prophecy is discussed on the UT Mesoamerican Discussion Board.
Others continue the Tortuguero interpretation by adding:
“…this is not the end of the world”.
Since we have our references let’s go on to the 2012 Prophecy.

Also a friend of mine likes theories and of all the ones he told was the earth’s axis will flip. Causing South pole to be North pole and everything in the earth getting messed up. Just like an hour glass getting flipped when time runs out. Maybe we can not compete with time and this is earth’s fate. Let’s cheerish every moment.

A big change will happen whether you choose to believe it or not but that doesnt mean you cant survive it. Our country on top of many other countries are slowing deteriating day by day resulting from damage of our collective divergence from the “Natural Law” in exchange for materialistic values as said by Pacal Votan. Things also pointing to our demise is the growth of terroism, war after war, the recession in world economy, desease, natural disasters, crime rates getting higher and changes that we have no control over.
On the other hand, even though it may seem far fetched at times, other topics are being or trying to be connected to this very date as well. This is where religion comes in.
Is it true? Is there really an anti christ?
Or will there really be a chip implanted in humans to track them, to be scanned and everything comes up on a computer all at once? Or will there really be a “One World Currency”?
So many questions I have yet to study and find the answers if there are any.
I am a 25 year old student, single mother and have always known to be realistic and easy going but this subject sparked my interest a year ago and I cant stop reading about it or studying it. Im not crazy but some people think with thier asses instead of thier heads and are very close minded. They wont even listen which is unfortunate because “if” something relly big does happen, they will be left unprepared or have no knowledge of whats going on.

I did the math and here is what I think: 260 days = 1 year ; 20 days = how many days in a month there will be. ; 13 tones = how many months there will be to a year. –20×13=260…Don’t you think that this new calendar could very well be the start of the new beginning? I think so.
