Why 2012?
Why 2012? Graham Hancock talks about 2012 in this short 9-10 minute interview. For those who do not know of Mr. Hancock, he is the author of the DVD documentary “In Search of the Lost Civilization” and numerous other books and recordings including “Fingerprints of the Gods” and “The Message of the Sphynx”.
Graham Hancock has been pushing the lost civilization message for some time now and a lot of what he says makes sense. Some of the material may seem “out there” if you are new to the whole “2012 / Mayan Calendar / Aliens have been to Earth” material but after you have been investigating this stuff for awhile much of what he says you’ll start finding in other places as well.
This doesn’t mean he is right or wrong, but I’ll tell you I was surprised while in Guatemala to run across evidence somewhat corroborating his theory about the Egyptians and travel across the oceans (or probably more accurate, a single source civilization prior to the Egyptians, the Maya and others). I went to some ruins and was totally taken aback when I found myself in front of 4-5 figurines (heads only) of the Egyptian God Anubis that had been excavated. There is no mistaking what the carvings were (pointy ears, long skinny nose, jackal-head) and in 2-3 years of travel I’ve never seen anything else like them, they are not normal Maya carvings in any sense.
I liked what Graham talked about prior to seeing these tiny statues and have since given even more credence to his work.

This just a crock [...], they’ve been saying this same thing for hundreds of years, and it hasn’t happened yet. The only thing its going to do is cause a bunch of riots across the world. How could the mayans know this when they show history showing that the mayans disappeared around the time that it was dated?, they were probably whipped out my another tribe, inwhich they wouldn’t have proof of this date being the end of the world. And im to young to die, i still have a daughter to raise.

If the Mayans could predict the end of the world on Dec. 21 2012, why cant we figure out what is going to happen on 2012? or when the end will come? Through education, evolution, and technology….wouldnt we as a race of people in the 21st century be smart enough to find this information out? How can these people who are 500 times not as smart as our scholars today, right?

end of human kind doesnt mean end of the world, does it? there are many other living things which i guess gonna survive . . . so . . . its not the end. . . i just hope that we arnt gonna have selfish spicies like human beings :S who gna capture the world and take it for granted that its only and only their’s and ignoring other animals and plants and destroying them, marking their teritory everywhere! happy enough humans arnt aquatic animals else they wouldnt have spared all those aquatic living things either. . . hmm, am sounding like a mad talking, so . . .seeya
