The Prophecies of 2012

Many have prophecized about the year 2012. From Nostradamus to the Maya there has been speculation about the nature of this particular year for many moons past.

Much of the focus has been on a possible 2012 apocalypse and potentially the end of the world. Interestingly enough one definition of apocalypse relates not to the total decimation of the world but instead a revelation of knowledge, either positive or negative, which has generally been hidden from most of humanity.

In the Christian Bible the Book of Revelations depicts great cataclysms, turmoil and suffering followed by Love and Truth. The word revelation itself means to reveal, much like the word apocalypse.

So what is a prophecy? A prophecy is a state or an action that appears likely to occur. A prophecy is something that may occur but it is within the power of humanity to change course and effect a different outcome.

I’ll tell you right now the Maya do not prophecize about the “end of the world” in 2012. This is a “lost in translation and perpetuated by ignorance” idea. Does this mean
we are off the hook? Not hardly.

All this “apocalyptic” talk really freaks me out. If it’s really “the end of the world,” I don’t beleive that anybody but GOD knows when that is going to be. There are no specicifc times or dates or even years mentioned in the bible. Nobody knows for sure. All we can do is pray that it is not the end of the world, seeing as though so many of us have so much more to do in life besides die.

I bet the mayans are laughing in their graves at us. It seems that whenever there is a apocalyptic date everyone seems to flock to the local church on that day. Thus is a “spiritual awakening” the mayans say. Thats all its gonna be.

I believe alot of the end of world non sence is people trying to fill in the blanks for knowlege we here by lack.

I believe that Mayan are more intelligent than us. we have completely misunderstood what they predict & believe. IT IS NOT THE END OF WORLD, It is time for awakening.

Nice explanation. I too am amused by anyone who foresees the end of the world and starts running around screaming like chicken little. Let us hope that the Mayans are right and in 2012 we will see a ‘revelation’. Lord knows we could use some enlightenment. For myself, I think I may hold an ‘End of the World Party’ on 21 Dec 2012.

This is really good research, after researching it myself this is what ive been looking for for clarification of other info ive learnt. 2012 is the beginning of a new aeon or age, as it was misinterpreted by the bible. with this new age comes as you say the revelation of information thats been hidden from the general population. everyone who has properly done their research probably knows what this is anyway.

  10. alannah said:

also amazing how the mayans even managed to predict their own demise. Not too bad for a “primitive” race, eh?

The bible says that the end will come… but if we read it right, with the corresponding gospels, and the book of revelation, we can clearly understand the end Jesus speaks is not the end of the world, but instead it’s a sign of His Coming( Rapture- where His waiting children will be caught up with Him in mid air) which will soon usher the great tribulation followed by the end of the age as WE know it.
Its clearly mentioned in Mathew 24 : 3, “While He was seated on the mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately and said, Tell us, when will this take place, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end( the completion, the consummation) of the AGE?” frm Amplified Version.
Where in the remainder of the chapter Jesus describes the times, events before He returns to earth. There are other scripture references as well in the Gospels of Mark & Luke. If there are any who’s interested in studying the rest, I suggest you dig deeper into the Gospel of Mark 13, Luke 21 : 7-36.
I closely follow the presentations of Dr. Jan Van Impe, he describes the dec 21 2012,the mayan calender, etc in great detail in his TV casts. You can check out his website its www .jvim.com … I have gained a lot of knowledge regarding the end of the age, the secret coming of Jesus, the great tribulation, the 1000 year millennium reign of Christ…. And much more… I suggest you look in to what he’s got to say…. He always backs his conclusions with strong reference from the bible.

well all i can say is that as much as this info is good and seriously people GOD,Jesus,Lucifer,SATAN… please give me a break they all just a myth no one knows if they existed or not and the ” HOLY BIBLE, THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS, GENESIS whatever is nothing but lies in those books i dont know why all of you follow it but..ok is our fault in the first place. Think about it we are the one causing and end to the world it self. Its our fault that global warming is happening *p.s i also blame the vegetarians for eating our need of oxygen*.All of this is happening because of us and nothing else so let death come to us. We die every single day so whats the point to save ourselves. we may be humans but really we all are nothing but plain alien look at us we are alien not even einstein however you spell his name could prove what human is. the books does not explain what humans are.PEOPLE ITS CALLED COMMON SENSE use it well if not then you are just a plain IDIOT.so lets not think about time, time is always and has been endless there will be a 2013 2014 2015 etc.. just that some of us wont be alive or lucky enough to see the years to come. last time i checked i was looking at a friends phone and if u want those who have cell phone can look this up.i was looking at the phones calendar and i was curious to see if there was an end and as it seems on the phone that it did but who knows there might be more years the year on the phone ended on december 25 2025. thats right on christmas when this so called jesus was born now the phone that i used was a razer phone maybe the phone we use today might show it or not if it does you shall recieve a doggy biscuit if not oh well is there and is there if not then is not good talking to you people i hope i gave u something to think about or hopefully i gave you guys some COMMON SENSE that is all.

i think that human civilisation is just built on negativity, meaning i strongly beleive that we are really misinterpriting the word ” THE END ” it could be the end of anything, for example, world poverty, terrorism, world peace, or something else rather positive, you have to see every perspective of the word ” END ” people see that word as negative but the word could mean the end of a lot of things, it dont have to mean exactly the end of the world, you gotta get your head out the clouds, im not religious or anything but i keep my options wide, i dont turn my back on any posibility considering anything could happen within reason, soo i hope i have opened your eyes wider to this situation, just remember, look on every perspective of every situation then u will see the wider variety of meanings or events, maybe then u will get somewhere, but just soo you know im not at all excluding that it could mean the end of the world, but there is a possibility that it could just be some ancient prank that has esculated to some on a massive scale, just keep thinking about this.

Hmmmm…i’ve read everyone’s interpertations of “the end” and “prophecy” and “apocalyptic” and i must say we have some pretty thoughtful and knowledgable people in this world, THANK GOD! I won’t pretend to say i wasn’t freaked out about the mayan calander ending on 12/12/2012, the mayans were known as a very advanced race and so far have predicted lots of events, but i no longer believe that it marks the end of the world. Im a strong believer in God, but all this bullshit about prophecies and apocalypses is just plain ignorant. The only people that can decide what our lives, as well as what the world around us, will look like, is ourselves. We have the power to change the courses of our life, not God, although i believe he allows us the opportunity to do so, or some pre-destinated calender. The end came mean manny positive things…not just bad ones. People, BREATHE!! Inhale, exhale…we’ve got plenty of time…in truth, it’s the only thing we really got.

    Anyway
What I think is that Planet X is the mother planet and it’s on it’s way back from its far out orbit of the sun. When it was here the time before last it dropped off some Mayans took what ever dinosaurs were left swapped them for some cows and stuff. Probably took the missing link as well.
The Mayans were supposed to tell the world that the Mother Planet was coming back, because as humans that’s what we do, if we have to leave some one behind we come back for them.
The only ones who took notice was the Egyptians, they build pyramids’, and didn’t wonna seem insane by telling the world that they built them for “the return of the mother planet” so they used gods as there reasoning and immortality. Why because the slaves who built them understood the concept of GOD and wanting to live forever.
Not only that but they (on the mother planet) probably knew that it would freak people out if they just turned up out of the blue, since previous warnings didn’t quite work out, so a bit of warning is the polite thing to do, right?
Okay, so the Mayans invented this calendar and all these temples because they knew they weren’t gonna be around for the mother planet’s return. So they had to be able to pass down through the centuries this knowledge with out being there to physically teach the people of the time of the return.
But, when they got back the last time no one new they were coming because they just didn’t know how to read the signs or the calendars or the temples.
So what did they do when there was no reception and no one knew what a Mayan was let alone a calendar or even the mother planet, so what did they do, I know what they did. [...]

The galactic plane, or how we see the Milky Way galaxy, appears as an elongated S in the night sky. To Maya this was the great serpent or snake, their deity. In 2012 as our solar systems crosses the galactic plane the great serpent will no longer be visible. Basically to the Maya their God disappears. How could they be anything but terrified by such an event?

However, there is more to this. The crossing of galactic plane has been “linked” scientifically to such events as an increase in solar particles which “heat up” the sun producing more radiation. It is also theorized that the Earth’s magnetic field could collapse for a period of time before restoring itself in a reversed polarity (north becomes south according to a compass).

These two events, would have devastating effects on life on Earth. The increase in solar radiation coupled with the reduction of the Earth’s magnetic field, which protects the Earth from most of harmful solar radiation would result in a heating of the Earth. This has already begun. Global warming is happening, but the real cause may not be green house gases, but degradation in our magnetic field and increased solar activity.

The loss of the magnetic field would also destroy most of the satellite communications and interfere with most forms of telecommunications. The likely result would be long term disruptions in world wide communications and transportation. We could be thrown back to the dark ages technologically for several thousand years until the pole reversed itself and the magnetic field restored.

Given how quickly mankind reverts to barbarism in the absence of social order. Prolonged world wide famine created by draught and lack of technological aids would inevitably cause mankind to deteriorate into something far less civilized than we are now.

I won’t even get into the possibility that gravitational effects maybe affected by this occurrence as well, which could result in asteroids changing orbits resulting in more impacts with the Earth. Even a single impact event of a significant nature would have a catastrophic affect on the world’s climate, leading to the equivalent of a nuclear winter.

Mass extinctions have been linked by Cambridge scholars geologically and through astrophysics to times where the Earth has crossed the galactic plane. It is not as far fetched as one may think. It will all happen in one day, no. In fact it already has begun and events will occur over several thousands of years. How we deal with them will determine how civilized we have actually become.

Well, after reading all the posts and conducting my own research i must say im no longer hungry i have much tochew buthere is my interpritation:-

Mathew 24:3 and the books of luke and and mark, i cannot believe anything from the bible im afraid, the bible has been interprited so many times by so many people that all meaning is lost. i believe that the bible should be beside Stephen King in the Fiction section of the liberary. If there is a GOD let me see him let him do something to show us all he is there……will this be 21/12/2012????

    I think Not………………………..

21/12/2012 is not a prediction of the end of the world, neither is it ANYTHING.

Even saying this i fell there will be people all over that will see something on 21/12/2012 that they will think is the maya prediction. So ultimately the only way to find out is 1 to wait till then and see what happens or 2 go back to the Maya civilisation in 2000 B.C - 200 A.D (Preclassic period)

But if your all not doing much as Benney said “World’s End Party” ill have one here in Edinburgh say 12noon, (Or will the world be gone by then:P)

    Merry Xmas all

I’m glad to see that someone has a good head on their shoulders. I am happy to hear some Christian insight on the subject. There is no changing the future God has planned. I know what the end will be like, but I’m not going to be here for the destruction anyways. God is always going to be there and there will always be those whom believe. Noone will ever change that. Not even satan has that much power. I just don’t worry about it because everything is in God’s hands. I don’t believe the end of the world will be in 2012, the Bible says it can not be fortold. So just sit back and relax. =D Enjoy the life God gave to you.

Just a few quick observations: I will not waste my time trying to make this sound super intelligent, I will just cut to the chase. There is no way for us or the Mayans or the Chinese or any other primitive culture to have made a 100% fool-proof calendar. As we discover pretty regularly, there are constant changing variables that have to be accounted for, thus any system that has ever been created or will ever be created will have to be tweaked. No doubt the Mayans have an extremely accurate system and if you think about it, the ammount of research and dedication to figuring out their system was unfathomable. Anyway, with that said it is just a calendar, just like our julian calendar. For us to think that it is some sort of “countdown” would imply that they somehow knew the beginning of time, which last time I checked was still unknown. Moving on….. Second, Time is constant…. always has been always will be. Yes there are factors that could make someones perception of time change, but the actual quantity elapsed is always the same in regards to identifiable terms. Assuming that our smallest measurable amount of time now is 1 nanosecond, which I am sure it is not but for argument sake let’s just say it is, 1 nanosecond= 1 nanosecond… always and it doesnt matter what you call it, the actual amount of elapsed time will always be equal to itself. Third, and this is a little off topic but not really and I just want to express my o opinion about religion, so if you made it this far you might as well read-on….. We are all so scared of Religion that it frightens me. I was born and raised in a Southern Baptist family. I attended church until I was approximately 13 years old and even until my late 20’s watched certain religious services on television. I am now 31 years old and this is my feeling….. No one religion has it perfect. No one KNOWS what “belief” is correct. Organized religion itself is inherently good, but the hard-core fanatics that insist that theirs is the one and only true God, is the problem. If these people would just stop and question how ridiculous it all sounds, they might lighten up a little. The bottom line for me is that we came from something and I refuse to believe that I could be typing at this computer if I am really only a few steps removed from “monkeydom”. However I also refuse to beleive that whomever did create this earth would bannish anyone to a “hell” if they did not beleive in them. Thus in short be a good human, do the right thing and you will all be ok, no matter what your religion or lack there of. Ok I am done, thanks for reading….

Eventually, the nations are arguing again…

I beleive in GOD as well as my religion says that the end is getting closer (well of course it does with each day passes).
    The minor signs had happened.

But it didn’t mentioned a paricular time. So as i say if the end of the world at 21-21-2012, lets wait and see (and do we have other options unitil then?!).

I don’t beleive in the eternity for this world, it has to be an end or else all what we’ve learned in it and about it (this world)from religions is a bullshit and non sense! The religions will have that gaps in it and later it may not survive! (Whos going to follow!)

I’m sure many will lose their faith if anything happend, such as: “something suposed to tell it’s the end (like now)and then turned to be (2012)”. But then to figure out it wasn’t really the end!

There’s something that we almost sure of: The disasters when Nibiru comes and kill 2/3 of us! And then what?!!! Is it the end or reform for this planet??! This is the case: if it’s the end, then this is what holly books pointing for. If it is reforming, i dunno!

Tho whole 2012 thing is because of Nibiru as you all know. And i’ve read multi sources for it and i have that intuition about it. I so want to say it’s a rumer but can’t be so sure of that too (it’s everybody’s hot topic). Unless somehting happened and changed Nibiru’s way..

BTW, how amusing that whom said it might be the end of something else! Like the scientists & researchers haven’t been sure about that! GO look yourselfs. Why would the mayan prodect of the end of poverty for GOD sakes!! I mean, that’s turning into a rubbish now. If thats so, what a major waist of time. don’t go so far.

    well, it’s like “I dare there’s 2012″!!!
    Each ways goes with me.

No doubt there is more to life than sittn on the couch, engourging ourselves at the next eyecatching temptations that only last a little while.
I do believe the mayans knew (know) alot more than we do, and have studied the stars and the earth’s movements, and so they do have some validations, I wouldnt be so hasty to cut them off.
We would be foolish to turn our backs upon the knowledge given to us and to research for ourselves for truth.
Whos to say there wouldn’t be an abundance of revealing knowledge in the age to come?! Afterall, everyday we make new discoveries and gain a step closer to more and more knowledge.
Lets listen to God when He speaks to us.

I am not scientific or religious in any way. However, with all this Mayan, end of the world, we all are going to die things I wonder how intelligent we are. There has been proof that some of the scriptures in the bible are false, or misinterpreted (lost in translation), and some of them might be real. However, we weren’t born all those million years ago, so how do we know for sure?
Scientifically, the world has a pattern it follows. It will always follow it. The poles will switch, the earth will be warmed and cooled down, and it will just continue. We cannot stop it. It is in the pattern of Earth.
Now, in my own opinion, it is a scare to people. It makes them go to repent for their sins, go to church, start worrying about all these things. No one really was worried about “2012 is the end” until about two years ago. It was just go with life and see what happens. Just like the Y2K. If any of these things were true, wouldn’t it already happened? People have been predicting the end of the Earth since science was masterminded. What we believe and how we interrupt it is what makes our mind.
So, decide for yourself, throw your parties, and be whatever you want to be. For if there was an end, wouldn’t we have stopped doing what we have done and acted on natural instincts as animals do? Cause no matter which way you go, we all would go more with natural instinct then anything else.

  30. Hi - I want to share a brief announcement about a new ebook I have just created and published. As you may know, I have been writing about 2012 and the Mayan calendar since 1987.

As a journalist, it has been my destiny to travel in life with many contemporary Native American spiritual elders, and to hear many of the teachings they offer about the land and about the era of transition in which we live. Out of that experience I have just created and published a petite ebook of about 33 pages— “Native Knowings: Wisdom Keys for 2012 and Beyond.”

Already the poles have shifted when the big Earthquake happened that caused the Tsunami on Boxing Day a couple of years ago. Thank you for the informative research. Be it The End or not, I believe it will be a time of great changes for the better of humanity. At present humanity is living in much spiritual ignorance and deep sufferings worldwide such as famine, war, and the futile and stressful chase of material dreams.
We all will die someday and one of the greatest sufferings in life is to die leaving loved ones behind or seeing loved ones die before us. And so it is indeed a great blessing to pass away together, side by side in the after life. And then be reborn again (if you believe in reincarnations) in a higher consciouness in a world of Compassion, Knowlegde, Hope and Unity. I do indeed welcome this End Of The Current World.
Sometimes I wonder what this current world is comming to and will there be true hope and salvation. And for those who is spiritually intouch, I think they will very much welcome this change of mother earth and human consciousness. And for people living a very material life and fulfiling sensuals pleasures, this indeed is a time of great suffering.
THE END IS COMMING, AND A GREAT NEW BEGINNING AWAITS.
    FEAR NOT,
MUCH JOY, MUCH HAPPINESS, MUCH KNOWLEDGE AWAITS.
    MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU.
